Stroll through the bustling stalls of Tarihi Ulus Hali. It is open late enough that you can grab a quick bite or just soak in the atmosphere before the sun sets.

Museum of the War of Independence
Walk across to the Museum of the War of Independence. Since it is on Ulus Square, you can peek at the building that once housed the Turkish Republican Parliament while waiting for the light to change. The museum is open until 17:00, so you can view the exterior and the square.
17:32
Head south to Güvenpark. This urban park is the perfect spot to watch the golden light fade. The anchor (Museum of the War of Independence) is to the north, so you will have a clear view of the western sky as the sun sets.
18:17
After dark, walk back north to the historic district for dinner. Uludağ Kebapçısı serves above-par kebab and is open until 22:00, making it a reliable spot for an evening meal.
Local tip
The Museum of the War of Independence has signage only in Turkish. Focus on the architecture and the square views if you do not read Turkish.
