Timeline

    Spui

Browse the art and antiques stalls on Spui. It is a quiet way to start the late afternoon before the crowds arrive for the main event.

  2. 15:56

    Royal Palace

Walk to the Royal Palace. With the sun setting toward the SW, the western facade will be bathed in golden light. The palace opens at 12:00, so you have plenty of time to explore the interior or simply admire the exterior architecture in the warm glow.

  3. 16:26

    De Jaren

Head to De Jaren, a minimal art-deco café just a short walk away. Climb the stairs to the upper floor for a better view where the main canals come together. The crowds are thinner up here, and the golden light reflects beautifully off the water.

Local tip

The Royal Palace is open daily from 12:00 to 17:00. If you plan to go inside, check the current opening hours as they can vary. The view from De Jaren is best enjoyed from the upper floor.
