Walk up to the Citadel of Qaitbay. Use the yellow tram or microbus to Anfushi if you are not already there. The fort is open from 09:00-20:00.

Find a spot on the ramparts looking west. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting long shadows over the eastern harbour.

Stroll down to Al Anfushi Beach to cool off and watch the lights come on in the city.
Local tip
The Citadel can get crowded at sunset. Arriving an hour early helps secure a good view on the walls.

- The Citadel is open 09:00-20:00. Sunset is at 17:20 on 15 January, so you have plenty of time.
- White and Blue restaurant is open 24/7.
- Transport to the Citadel is by yellow tram or microbus to Anfushi.
