Timeline

  1. 08:00

    ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden

Enter the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden right at opening. The expansive grounds are an oasis of high desert plants and curated gardens. Arriving early lets you explore the winding paths and enclosed views before the midday heat or visitors arrive.

  2. 08:45

    Bike-in Coffee

Walk 12 minutes to Bike-in Coffee for a drink. This café is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 08:00 to 14:00, making it the perfect spot to pause and recharge after your garden walk. Check the route to get there.

  3. 09:45

    ABQ BioPark Aquarium

Head to the ABQ BioPark Aquarium, located next door to the Botanic Garden. This small but pleasant aquarium is well-curated, with exhibits that simulate the Rio Grande and Gulf of Mexico marshes before moving to ocean species. The short walk from the coffee shop keeps the pace relaxed.

Local tip

The Botanic Garden and Aquarium are adjacent, allowing you to combine them into one smooth loop. If you prefer a sit-down meal, Smothered Brunch is an option near Tingley Beach, but it is a 16-minute walk from the garden and may require a detour from this specific route.
