    Grab an Assam Laksa at Pasar Air Itam Laksa. It is a simple hawker stall in the local market, popularised by Anthony Bourdain. Ask for chilli if you like it spicy.

    Penang Hill

    Take the funicular rail to the top of Penang Hill. This is the best way to reach the hill station and secure a spot for the view.

    Penang Hill

    Watch the sun set toward the WSW from Penang Hill. It offers arguably the best views of George Town and the Malacca Strait, especially as the light fades.

Local tip

The market is busy, so order quickly. The funicular can have queues, so arriving an hour before sunset helps you beat the rush.
