Timeline

  1. 20:01

Walk to Measday's Lookout. It is a short 24-minute walk from the main area of Cleland Conservation Park in the SW direction. This is one of the best vantage points for the sunset, offering clear views toward the WSW where the sun sets on 15 January.

  2. 20:31

Watch the sunset. The sun sets at 20:31 on 15 January. From Measday's Lookout, you will see the sun sink toward the WSW. The golden light begins around 19:55, so you have about 30 minutes of warm light to enjoy the view before the main event.

  3. 20:46

Walk to First Falls. It is a 23-minute walk from the anchor area in the WSW direction. After the sunset, the light fades quickly, but the waterfall area offers a quiet, atmospheric end to the evening. The path is well-defined and easy to follow in the twilight.

Local tip

Bring a warm layer. The Adelaide Hills cool down quickly after sunset, even in summer. Check the exact sunset time for your specific date, as it varies slightly throughout the year.
